About the role
As a Content Marketer, you will be responsible for developing and executing content strategies that showcase our unique perspective in the renewable energy space. You will create thought leadership content that balances technical expertise with accessibility, highlighting Wattch's unique and often contrarian viewpoint on optimizing commercial-scale solar and storage assets. You will manage our content across multiple channels to increase awareness among industry professionals and drive engagement with our brand. Most importantly, you will help build upon the increased momentum Wattch has experienced over the past several years by helping shape our brand voice, positioning, and point of view.
To be successful in this role, you should be an excellent communicator with strong storytelling abilities who is able to translate complex technical concepts into compelling content. You should be comfortable working autonomously and driving marketing initiatives with minimal supervision. An interest in or knowledge of renewable energy is also a plus!
On a given day, you will be...
- Creating technical thought leadership content across channels and mediums regularly, including the Wattch blog, newsletter, social media, and webinars
- Managing the development of the next iteration of Wattch’s marketing website, including defining and implementing an SEO strategy
- Coordinating speaking opportunities, logistics, booth displays, collateral, and merchandise for trade shows and events
- Partnering with customers to create case studies and testimonials
- Collaborating with the executive team on messaging and positioning
- Building relationships with industry publications and thought leaders
- Analyzing content performance metrics and optimizing strategy
- Proposing new topics, channels, and mediums based on prospect and customer questions, objections, and feedback, new product features, and current events
From time to time, you might also be...
- Drafting op-eds and press releases as strategic opportunities arise
- Designing printed collateral like one-pagers, cutsheets, hardware guides, etc.
- Assisting the sales and customer success teams in drafting and updating presentations and other sales support materials
- Developing long-form content such as courses, whitepapers, and research papers on technical topics with assistance and input from the Wattch team
- Collaborating with the product and customer success teams to develop feature announcements and other customer-focused content
- Supporting the sales team to develop custom collateral for high-value sales targets using Account Based Marketing principles
You're perfect for this role if you...
- Have 2-5 years of experience in B2B marketing or content creation, preferably in SaaS, hardware, renewable energy, or another highly specialized field
- Have experience managing multiple content channels simultaneously and repurposing content across those channels (blog, social, email)
- Are a strong communicator with excellent storytelling and messaging abilities
- Can translate complex technical concepts into accessible, valuable content
- Have an eye for design and visual consistency with attention to detail
- Are familiar with SEO best practices and content optimization
- Are data-driven with a firm grasp of marketing KPIs
- Have experience with marketing tools like HubSpot, Google Analytics, etc.
- Have experience with AI content generation and design tools like Claude, Veed, Canva, etc.
- Are self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Have excellent organizational and project management skills
- Have experience communicating requirements and managing contractors
- Bring a creative, innovative approach to marketing challenges
- Live in (or are interested in relocating to) Atlanta
Bonus points if you…
- Have experience managing event marketing logistics
- Have experience in illustration, graphic design, photography, or videography
- Have experience with design tools such as Webflow and Adobe Creative Suite
- Have experience building and implementing Account Based Marketing strategies
- Have existing relationships in the renewable energy industry
